The Lost Wallet

Maria lives in a small city. She works in a shop near the park. One day, Maria notices her wallet is missing from her bag. She looks everywhere but cannot find it. Maria tells her friend John. “Someone took my wallet,” she says. John works at the police station. He says, “Don't worry. I will help you.” John asks Maria many questions. “Where did you last see your wallet?” “At the shop, when I gave money to a customer.” John visits the shop and talks to the people there. A man with a blue hat was near Maria when she lost the wallet. John asks the man to come to the police station. At the station, the man says, “I saw the wallet on the floor, but I did not take it.” John finds the wallet in the street near the shop. The wallet has money and cards inside. Maria is happy to have her wallet back. John says, “Always be careful with your things.” Maria thanks John. She feels safe again. Maria learns to watch her bag and her things carefully. She is glad the police helped her.
