A New Friend at the Café

Sarah lives in a busy city. Every morning, she goes to a small café before work. The café is quiet and warm. Sarah sits by the window and drinks her coffee slowly. One day, a man sits at the next table. He smiles and says, “Hello.” His name is Tom. Tom works in the city too. He also likes coffee. Sarah and Tom talk about the weather. Today, it is raining. Tom says, “Rain makes the city look nice.” Sarah laughs. She says, “Sometimes I forget my umbrella at home.” Tom tells Sarah about his job. He works in a big office on the other street. Sarah works at a bank. She helps people with their money. Sarah and Tom meet at the café again the next day. They talk about their favorite music and books. Sarah likes romantic books. Tom likes adventure books. Sometimes, Sarah and Tom go for a walk in the park after work. Tom buys two cups of hot chocolate at the café and gives one to Sarah. Sarah feels happy. She is glad to have a new friend. After many weeks, Tom asks Sarah, “Do you want to eat dinner with me?” Sarah smiles. “Yes, I do,” she says. They eat dinner at a small restaurant. They talk and laugh. Sarah and Tom become good friends. Every day feels bright, even when it rains. Sarah thinks, “I was lonely before, but now I have someone to talk to.”
