The Lost Sandwich

Tim lives in a small apartment in the city. One day, Tim makes a big sandwich for lunch. He puts cheese, tomato, and chicken on the bread. The sandwich looks delicious. Tim is hungry. Tim wants to eat in the park, so he puts the sandwich in a bag and leaves his apartment. Outside, it is sunny and the park is busy. People walk their dogs, play games, and talk with friends. Tim finds a bench and sits down. But when he opens his bag, the sandwich is gone! Tim looks around. He sees a small dog near his bench. The dog is licking its lips and has bread on its face. Tim laughs. “Did you eat my sandwich?” he asks. The dog runs away and Tim chases it. The dog goes under a table, behind a tree, and past a group of children. Tim runs after the dog, but he is not fast. The dog stops near a woman. The woman smiles and says, “Is this your dog?” Tim says, “No, but it took my sandwich!” The woman laughs, and Tim laughs too. Tim sits down with the woman and her dog. She gives Tim half of her sandwich. They eat together and talk. The dog sits between them and waits for more food. Tim says, “I learned something today. Next time, I will watch my lunch!” The woman says, “Or you can bring one for the dog too.” Tim smiles and agrees. That day, Tim makes a new friend and shares a funny story.
